Friday 9th June will see young people from across Greater Merseyside gather at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall to receive their Aimhigher Greater Merseyside Achievers Awards.

Nearly 300 young people from schools and colleges across the region have been nominated for the awards in recognition of their individual achievements over the last year.

The fifth annual Achievers Awards, organised this year by the University of Liverpool, will be the biggest yet with over 1,000 family members, friends and VIP guests attending.

Emy Onuora, Director of Aimhigher Greater Merseyside explains how "the Achievers Awards are the highlight of our year, we continue to be amazed at the level of commitment and motivation of the young people we work with on a daily basis and by the degree to which they overcome the most difficult of hurdles."

"As practitioners we continue to be inspired by the young people we work with as they strive to achieve their goals."
