Pupils Make Wise Choice
Tuesday 2nd February saw the first half of the Wise Projects year 10 cohort attend their launch event at Edge Hill University.
45 pupils plus staff visited the campus to discover what higher education is all about. Pupils took part in team building activities, student life sessions and also had a chance to vocalise their opinions during the 'Great Debate.'
During the day pupils got to work with our own Student Advocates and also work with some of the Law society's Mooting teams, all in preparation for the afternoons debate about the pro's and con's of continuing onto university.

Dan Monaghan from the Aimhigher team at Edge Hill University explains:
"Mooting can help build confidence in public speaking as well as research and presentation skills. It is something that benefits every student whatever subject they wish to study at university."
"The WISE project will introduce pupils to higher education and develop their knowledge and understanding of HE and university."
"We will support pupils through high school and inspire and motivate them to consider HE as an option for them."
Schools that attended included:
Prenton School for Girls (Wirral)
De La Salle (Liverpool)
Fazakerley (Liverpool)
St Benedicts (Liverpool)
The other half of the schools will be attending a launch on Tuesday 9th February, so keep an eye out for the pictures.

Thanks are expressed to all the pupils who once again represented their schools impeccably and put 100% into the day's activities. Thanks also to the staff who accompanied them.
Well Done to our Year 10 Launch 'Puzzle Off' Champions.....
Dominic Bromilow (De La Salle) and Mrs Jones (Fazakerley)
