Associates, Mentors & Advocates

Aimhigher Greater Merseyside run several schemes that allow undergraduate students in HE and FE to work with young people in a range of educational settings.

Aimhigher Associates

The Aimhigher Associates Scheme is a new targeted and structured programme which aims to guide and support learners with a long-term commitment of mentoring as they progress through full-time secondary education into further education at sixth form or college. The learners targeted will be from traditionally under-represented groups, from Years 9-13, who have the ability to progress to Higher Education (HE) but may encounter barriers to prevent them from reaching their full potential.

Aimhigher Associates will be paid to support 5 young people in either a school or college with 15-20 sessions per year. These sessions will comprise of structured face-to-face meetings and some e-mentoring.

Aimhigher Associates are provided with extensive accredited training and will be provided with all the necessary support, resources and materials required to conduct the sessions with mentees.
